Spanda Institute grew out of a Yoga School founded in 2009 by Nina Vukas. Since then, we have certified hundreds of Yoga Teachers through our 200-hour, 300-hour, Prenatal Yoga and other education courses. We keep growing, changing, evolving, and finding the common ground where Tradition and Modern Science meet.

200-hour Yoga Teacher Training

Our 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training course is perfect for Yoga students who have been practising for a while and are ready to learn more but can’t afford to take the required time off to attend an in-person Yoga Teacher Training course. 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training

This program is created for certified Yoga Teachers who want to gain a deeper insight and knowledge of Yoga practice and philosophy. 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training (Spanda Alumni)

This Yoga Teacher Training is designed for those who have completed our foundational modules and are eager to deepen their yoga journey with us. This advanced training equips you with essential knowledge, skills, and tools to refine your practice and broaden your teaching expertise. It offers comprehensive guidance on creating and delivering diverse yoga experiences, from crafting advanced masterclasses to tailoring yoga practices for individuals of all bodies and abilities.

800-hour Yoga Therapy Training

Embark on a transformative journey with our Yoga Therapy Training program, designed to deepen your practice and empower you to support others in their healing journey. This comprehensive training blends ancient wisdom with modern therapeutic techniques, equipping you with the skills to address physical, mental, and emotional well-being holistically. Join us to explore the profound impact of yoga therapy and become a certified guide for sustainable, meaningful change.

Yoga History, Philosophy and Tradition

This course will cover the long and fascinating Yoga History, Philosophy and Tradition. It contains five lessons on Yoga History, one on Subtle Anatomy and one practice class, and, together with quizzes and homework, will take about 10 hours to complete. The 10 hours can be registered as Yoga Alliance Continued Education hours.

Anatomy, Physiology & Biomechanics of Yoga

This course covers both Anatomy and, in part, Physiology of Musculoskeletal, Nervous and Respiratory systems. Apart from the Anatomy lectures, it also contains quizzes and other assignments and three Yoga classes. It will take you about 30 hours to complete this course. These hours can be counted as YACEP. 

Prenatal Yoga Essentials

This course is an in-depth overview of the Prenatal Yoga foundations. You can expect guidelines for curating classes for each trimester, learn the structure of the Spanda Prenatal Yoga classes, get a detailed insight into the Prenatal Namaskar, and strong foundations in the Anatomy and Physiology of pregnancy, labour, and birth. This course can be counted as CE with Yoga Alliance(18h), and is perfect for those who are not yet ready to commit to a full Prenatal & Postnatal TT.

A Safe Space - Trauma Sensitive Yoga

Welcome to the Safe Space - Trauma Sensitive Yoga course. This course comprises 30 hours of lectures, practice, quizzes, reading, and other assignments. You can add these hours as YA Continuing Education. 

Embodied Calm: Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Nidra

In addition to our Safe Space: Trauma-Sensitive Yoga module, Embodied Calm adds another valuable tool to your teaching toolkit, focusing on how to guide various Embodied Calm Yoga Nidra classes with trauma-sensitive principles in mind. Whether offered as a standalone session or integrated into a movement-based class, this training will equip you with the skills to create deeply restorative and calming experiences for your students.

This is a 6-hour YACEP course.
